Fun on the driving range. Whatever next…?
Never start one project when you can start four! You may have noticed that there’s a lot going on at Horton at the moment.
The Orangery is nearing completion with a due date of 1 December at which time we will have a pause for Christmas. The current plan is to start the kitchen, bar and changing room refurbishment works on 8 January, with the intention to be done by Easter. This will mean operating out of the upstairs bar with a limited food offering. However, once we have a clear plan I will give you more detail.
Simon is doing a great job, keeping on top of the course as well as masterminding the new paths. All of the new paths are now laid and we have a roller on site to break down all the larger pieces of hard-core. We will put a topping on the paths around the tees and greens with the remainder left as is. This will enable members and privilege card holders to use buggies all winter, provided you keep to the paths! Currently buggies are still on so you can access all areas of the course.
Simon and his team are also about to embark on a renovation of the two practice bunkers by the adventure golf having already got the new putting green into play.
Finally, Cosmic Golf on the driving range is launched on Saturday with a live DJ, cocktails a dancing robot and the first chance to enjoy the new space in our orangery. Click Here for tickets which are expected to sell-out.
The cosmic targets are designed to make evening practice more enjoyable, as they flash and make a sound when hit. After our launch party this week, every Saturday will be party night with our glow balls, lights dimmed and music on the range.
